Two more magazines have picked up the casting and production news I’ve posted about earlier today. The short articles in Empire Online and This is North Scotland have some new extra info:
- Filming starts on 24 February 2008 on the Isle of Man
- Filming moves then to Pinewood Studios in London (which you can also read about on the website of Pinewood Studios)

Claire Danes Joins Me & Orson Welles
On board with Zac EfronClaire Danes has joined the cast of Me & Orson Welles, Richard Linklater’s new movie about a young man who found his way into the famed Mercury Theatre that Welles set up in 1937. The film is based on a novel by Robert Kaplow. Zac Efron will play the young man, with Danes as a young woman he falls for.
Also in the cast are Christian McKay as Welles, Ben Chaplin as stage actor George Coulouris and Kelly Reilly, Eddie Marsan, Leo Bill, Imogen Poots and Aidan McArdle in unspecified roles.
The film begins shooting on February 24 on the Isle of Man and will then film in Pinewood Studios, London and New York. You can find the filming locations by following the sound of screaming girls.

Zac and Claire for new film
Zac Efron and Claire Danes will head the ensemble cast for Richard Linklater’s Me & Orson Welles, it has been announced.
The coming-of-age romantic comedy will start shooting in the Isle of Man on February 24, before moving to Pinewood Studios, London locations and New York.
The screenplay by Holly Gent Palmo and Vincent Palmo Jr is based on the novel by Robert Kaplow, a coming-of-age story set in the world of New York theatre.
High School Musical star Zac plays a teenage student who lucks his way into a minor role in the 1937 Mercury Theatre production of Julius Caesar, directed by 22-year-old genius Orson Welles.
Newcomer Christian McKay stars as Orson and the film also features Ben Chaplin, Kelly Reilly, Eddie Marsan, Leo Bill, Imogen Poots and Aidan McArdle.
Producers are Marc Samuelson, Ann Carli and Linklater, with Steve Christian, John Sloss and Steve Norris as executive producers.

Romantic comedy Me & Orson Welles is to be filmed at Pinewood Studios and on location in England, the Isle of Man and New York. Directed by Oscar-nominated Richard Linklater (School of Rock, Before Sunset), the production will use the studios’ stages and backlot from February 2008.
Having previously filmed Stormbreaker at Pinewood, producer Marc Samuelson returns with producers Ann Carli and Richard Linklater as well as Steve Christian, John Sloss and Steve Norris as executive producers on the CinemaNX production.
