Me and Orson Welles

One of the casting agencies on the Isle of Man has published a casting call for extras on “Me and Orson Welles” on their website:

We are filming in March a period film set in 1937 to be filmed in the Gaiety Theatre on the 3rd 4th and the 9th March. We are looking for Males & Females aged between 20-70 to be part of the theatre audience, you can do the 3rd & 4th the 9th or all 3 days.
Ladies to be no bigger than dress size 16 & to have available black, navy or grey knee length skirt & dark court shoes. Hair to be bob or shoulder length
Men to be no bigger than chest 44″ & to have available black trousers ,black shirt & light shirt.
Hair to be no shorter than short back & sides.
Payment £80 per 12 hrs overtime £10 hr thereafter
If costume fitted £15 Haircut £15

There will be no further productions coming to the Island until after “TT”, more information will become availiable at the end of June.

We welcome people of all ages, sizes, any pets, etc.
Joining is free, however if you wish to be featured on our website there will be a fee of £10.
We wish to ask our current members to send a current photograph, as we cannot guatantee work ,if their details are not up to date.

Gallery

We are always looking for photos to include in our picture gallery – if you have any photos of yourself or other people taken on the set of any productions we have been associated with please send them in to us for our picture gallery.

Being a film extra

Ex-Isle look forward to continuing working with all background artistes previously registered with Nina’s People Casting Agency.

There are number of things to remember about being a film extra, so please read the following very carefully.

• Filming can involve a 12 hour day
• Rates of pay are:
• £65 per day
• Overtime (if needed) £15 per hour
• Night shooting £85
• Children £35 per day
• You may be required to attend for a fitting. The fee for this is between £15 and £20
• You must ring our office for start times/fitting times
• You are responsible for finding your own transport to the location
• Once you have committed to do film extra work you must arrive at the appointed time and location. If you have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances we need a minimum of 48 hours notice
• Filming schedules can change, therefore be prepared to have your dates changed by this Agency. We will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible
• 12 hours is a long day – food will be provided, however bring extra snacks and drinks, and things to amuse yourself eg a good book, pack of cards, music (with headphones only)

Things not allowed on set:

• Cameras
• Video Cameras
• Mobile phones
• Alcohol or drugs

• You should not approach principal actors for autographs unless you have been given permission by a
member of the crew.

• Anyone who does not respect these terms will not be used for future films.
